Did you know that God’s word speaks extensively on healing, in both the Old Testament and the New Testament? For instance, below are scriptures to study on the subject of healing. All scriptures are quoted from the NIV.
What the Old Testament Says:
He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.” Exodus 15:26
See now that I myself am he! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand. Deuteronomy 32:39
Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. Jeremiah 17:14
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:2-5
Likewise, what the New Testament Says:
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
And the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all. Luke 6:19
Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:14-16
Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” Luke 8:48
When we hide God’s word in our hearts, it becomes truth to us. As a result, we begin to walk in the truth of His word and operate in faith for His promise.
