Will You Answer The Call To Prayer? Four Verses To Motivate You

When I became a Christian, one of the desires of my heart was to learn how to pray effectively. I did not know who to talk to neither did I know where to start. During the process of me having these questions in my heart, I found out that there was a group of ladies who prayed daily for the church I was attending at the time.

I decided to go to one of their prayer sessions and my life has never been the same since. One of the major things I learned from them was to pray scripturally. In other words, I had to make sure whatever I prayed about agreed with the scriptures.

Now that I am a wife and a mother, I am forever grateful that whenever I am dealing with a very challenging situation, all I need to do is to find a promise in the word of God, pray it, and believe that what I have asked God for is already mine.

It is a blessing to know that we can pray about any situation and expect God to intervene when we trust Him.

Prayer is a supernatural tool that allows us to access what God has already given to Christians from the supernatural realm, into the physical realm.

2 Peter 1:3 says:

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness” (NIV).

In addition, God told us in Philippians 4:6 to not allow ourselves to be anxious about anything,” but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (NIV).

This is so comforting to me that the God who created the universe admonishes us not worry about anything.

Instead, we are to pray about our circumstances. Worry does not change anything. But the prayer of faith changes everything. James 4:2b says, “…You do not have because you do not ask God” (NIV).

The following Scriptures help me to stay focused and motivated in prayer:

  • Mark 11:24-25 says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins” (NIV).
  • Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone that asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened” (NIV).
  • 1 Peter 3:12 a, “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer…” (NIV).
  • James 5:16 b, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (NIV).

Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete” John 16:23-24, (NIV).

Having a consistent and effective prayer life will bless you and your family. Praying for yourself and your family will place a hedge of protection around your family.

Proverbs 14:1a says every wise woman builds her house.

Learning to pray scripturally will help you to build your family, home, marriage, and every area of your life.

I love those Titus 2 women in our lives who teach us how to love God and see hard after Him. I had a praying group that taught me how to press in, right into His holy throne room ( Heb 4:16) and to bring down Heaven with His Word as my words in my prayers. Your words blessed me today! Thanks for sharing them at the #GraceMoments Link Up! Dawn
